Boca de Yuma is a picturesque fishing village that is not included in the list of standard excursion routes, hence it remains relatively uncrowded. Once, a Spanish colonial fort was located in Boca de Yuma. The cannons, which served as its main defense, can still be observed on the coastline to this day.

We recommend visiting:
▪ Ponce de Leon House Museum - a 16th-century mansion where the famous Spanish explorer-conquistador Juan Ponce de Leon lived. It is believed that he was searching for the legendary “Fountain of Youth”, however, he discovered Florida instead, thereby eternally inscribing his name in history.
▪ Berna Cave – an interesting and amazing landmark. It is on the walls of this cave where ancient petroglyphs and pictograms left by the Taino Indians several thousand years ago have been preserved.
▪ Fishing – you can rent a boat with a captain, but it is better to think about the necessary fishing equipment in advance; locals do not bother with fishing rods.
▪ Restaurants and cafes - the freshest seafood at local, non-touristy prices, what could be better?
The highways in the Dominican Republic are in excellent condition, in part due to the fact that most of the country's main highways are toll roads. We advise having cash in pesos on hand for toll payments. The sun is quite active in the country, so it is always advisable to use sunscreen with 50% protection and head coverings. Also, don’t forget that you are on a tropical island; towels, swimsuits, and flip-flops will never be superfluous.
