Where to go in the Dominican Republic

Redonda Mountain and Esmeralda Beach

You can visit both places in one day!

We recommend starting with Redonda Mountain – it is one of the most popular tourist attractions in the region. It is famous for its unique views from the top.
You can get here by walking or using a special vehicle. This place is perfect for taking stunning photos and enjoying the natural beauty.

After enjoying the panoramic views, you can head to Esmeralda - an incredibly beautiful, almost wild, beach located near the town of Miches. Entrance to it is free. Not so long ago, it was slightly civilized - toilets and showers were built.

  • Travel time from Bavaro/Punta Cana ~ 1 hour
  • Toll road cost – free
  • Recommended visiting time – daytime. The view from the mountain is most advantageous during the day, and at the beach, after sunset, sand flies may bother you

We recommend visiting:

▪ Restaurant – enjoy a meal at the top of Redonda

▪ Swing and hammock on top of the mountain - it’s nice to swing with a view of the Atlantic Ocean

▪ We also recommend taking memorable pictures of the "flight on a broom"

The highways in the Dominican Republic are in excellent condition, partly because most of the country's main highways are toll roads. We advise having cash in pesos for toll payments. The sun is quite active in the country, so it is always advisable to use sunscreen with 50% protection and head coverings. Also, don’t forget that you are on a tropical island; towels, swimsuits, and flip-flops will never be superfluous.
