Macao is a beautiful beach, with its amazing and enchanting atmosphere. It is particularly popular among surfers as it is not "fenced off" by a coral reef that would obstruct the free passage of the Atlantic Ocean waves.
This is, essentially, the only place in the Punta Cana area where there is a surfing school. Professional instructors will help even beginners to stay on the waves. The cost of a two-hour training lesson is about ~ 60 dollars; there is also an option to order video filming of your surfing from a drone.

We recommend visiting:
▪ One of the cafes located right on the beach - local fishermen catch fish early in the morning, so you can expect dishes made from the freshest seafood. On average, the cost of lunch will start from 20 dollars
▪ At Macao, you can take a surfing lesson or rent equipment for it
▪ There is an opportunity to rent a bodyboard - a board designed for riding waves in a lying position. One hour will cost ~ 10 dollars
▪ In addition to this, you can enjoy a horse ride on the beach
The highways in the Dominican Republic are in excellent condition, in part due to the fact that most of the country's main highways are toll roads. We advise having cash in pesos on hand for toll payments. The sun is quite active in the country, so it is always advisable to use sunscreen with 50% protection and head coverings. Also, don’t forget that you are on a tropical island; towels, swimsuits, and flip-flops will never be superfluous.
